Power has been restored to homes in Tauranga south this afternoon after the driver of a recycling truck forgot to lower his boom before leaving a yard.
Tauranga police acting Senior Sergeant Wayne Hunter said the driver of the truck had been operating in Greerton this afternoon when he lefta yard and the boom, which had not been lowered, ran into power lines.
The incident resulted in an outage affecting Gate Pa, Greerton, and parts of Pyes Pa.
The outage happened about 2pm and was restored about 3.30pm.
