Tauranga police are calling for motorists and cyclists to heed extra caution on the roads after a spate of collisions between the two.
This morning a 13-year-old boy was taken to Tauranga Hospital after a crash on Courtney Rd.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing acting Senior Sergeant Nigel Ramsdensaid the boy was coming down the street's hill at speed with traffic passing him on the right.
A car then turned left into a driveway, in front of the cyclist.
To avoid collision, the cyclist turned and ended up crashing into a parked vehicle, hurting his shoulder, Mr Ramsden said.
