A Tauranga shop believed to be illegally selling synthetic drugs could have its products seized by police.
Earlier this week the Bay of Plenty Times reported that the shop, called Asylum on Cameron Rd, could be in breach of the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013.
As part of the act businesses had to apply for a licence to sell synthetic drugs.
Associate Minister of Health Todd McClay said the act stated that an application for an interim licence could only be made if the retailer was already selling synthetic drugs at least 28 days before the legislation came into effect.
The shop was not open 28 days before the act was introduced on July 18.
