Brett Morrison has suffered another blow after discovering his late wife's jewellery has been stolen.
On Tuesday morning, Mr Morrison left his Papamoa home for about an hour. When he came home he discovered his house had been burgled. His late wife Sarah Morrison's jewellery - including her engagement andwedding rings and the earrings she wore on their wedding day - had been stolen.
Please have some compassion. I understand you must have your life's pressures that have put you where you are but I'm sure you have Facebook and have seen the comments and shares from people... it's not to late to do the right thing.
Last night, a heart breaking development has shown that Sarah's grandmother's antique gold ring with green stone had also been stolen in the robbery, among other things.
The under water housing for his camera, a GoPro and his iPhone 5 have also been taken.
Mr Morrison said although an insurance assessor was going around this afternoon, he was holding onto hope that the jewellery would come back to him.
"There are so many people looking for them it has to turn something up sooner or later,'' he said.
"My plea to the thief is to understand how much this means to me and to know that these treasures are being looked for by the police and by others, I believe they will now be to hot to move.
"Stop and think for a moment and please return them no questions asked," he told The Bay of Plenty Times.
"The ring - I feel bad for Sarah's family. The other stuff is just stuff and I'm not really focused on that, my focus is on the jewellery
