A terminally ill Tauranga woman has been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of strangers after her car was stolen while she was in Auckland Hospital preparing to give birth.
Nikki Reynolds, 20, and her partner Brendan Wilson, 22, were in Auckland Hospital after her heath deteriorated from her terminal cystic
fibrosis condition, when their car was stolen from the carpark earlier this month.
The car contained baby clothes and medication.
She was told she could not carry a child because of her condition but gave birth to her daughter Skyla on June 13.
Dozens of people came forward with money, clothes and toys and accessories for baby Skyla. One woman also offered the couple a car.
Can you help?
The Bay of Plenty branch of the Cystic Fibrosis association would like to thank everyone who has generously offered help to Nikki Reynolds and Brendan Wilson.
They now have enough baby gear and clothes but if anyone would still like to help they would appreciate any help towards the purchase of a replacement car.
The bank account for any donations is: Westpac 030435 0554803 00 Cystic Fibrosis Assn BOP. Deposits should be labelled "donation Nikki".
The association is a registered charity and receipts for tax purposes can be issued.
