Forty million dollars will be distributed to consumers and community organisations in the coming financial year after TECT Trustees confirmed their distribution plan.
The plan will see $31.2 million paid out to consumers through the TECT cheque scheme. In Novemeber this year eligible TECT consumers will receive a cheque of
at least $400, up from $435 in 2015.
TECT Chairperson said the cheque distribution provided an injection of millions of dollars into the local economy.
Trustees would continue to include payments to consumers who have had their gas and internet services with Trustpower.
TECT has also committed $8.8 million to support community organisations and projects.
