Some 180 students from Gate Pa and Greenpark primary schools braved the wind and rain on Tuesday to take part in a stream and estuary clean-up day event in the Kopurererua Stream Reserve, near the Historic Village.
The group collected more than 560kg of rubbish and recycling, including glass andplastic bottles, old furniture, household waste, a pram, a rusty mountain bike and a two-seater sofa.
