Jetskiier Adrian de Villiers.

Jetskiier Adrian de Villiers.

This week's Newsmaker is flat water trick jetskiier Adrian de Villiers, who this week reunited with the men who rescued him after a stunt at the Tauranga Boat Expo went wrong.

1 Describe yourself in three words.

"Friendly, caring, meticulous."

2 Tell us a bit about your first jet ski riding memory, how old were you and how long did you stay dry for?

"The first time I can remember was when I was around 18 years old and I rode a mate's old Kawasaki 440. Once at the lake when first out riding I met World Champion Jimmie Visser riding around in circles. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was practicing a set-up wake to do a flat water barrel roll - and being 20 odd years ago - I laughed to myself thinking that was impossible. Today - here we are."

3 Where is your favourite place in the Bay to jetski and why?

"I enjoy riding at Sulphur Point. It has a little beach for the kids to play and swim, and it's deep enough for me to practice."

4 When do you hope to get back on your ski (and will you try another back flip)?

"As soon as medically fit, and back flip? Of course (next time one foot - one hand off). If anyone is interested, they can follow me on my Facebook page - Showtime Freestyle."

5 What marine creature would most likely send you screaming for shore if you bumped into it on the water?

"LOL where do I start? Even if I see dolphins I get the hibijibis."

6 You made news jet-skiing but how else might people know you?
