World famous in Tauranga, The Night is Young is the chance for secondary schools to showcase their talents, and it once again graces Baycourt's Addison Theatre.
Ten secondary schools from throughout the Bay of Plenty are taking part this year, showcasing young people in the region with "amazing levels of
performance", according to organiser Anna Finlayson-Smith, chairman of the Friends of Baycourt.
The show is varied and includes song, dance, Shakespeare, kapa haka, bands and instrumentals.
It is not a competition, but an opportunity to enjoy performing on the stage of Baycourt Theatre.
"The vision is to give young people in the community the opportunity to perform on the Baycourt stage because it gives them exposure that they wouldn't otherwise have," she says.
