This October 14,in cities around the world, thousands of people will "Walk for Freedom" - to raise funds to fight and raise awareness of the $150 billion industry thatis human trafficking. Coronation Park, Mount Maunganuiis the launch point for the Bay of Plenty's Walk for Freedom.
Supporting the work of
international, non-profit organisation A21, the walk aims to raise awareness of the more than 21 million slaves across the planet to day. Human trafficking in the 21st century takes many forms - sex trafficking, forced labour, bonded labour, involuntary domestic servitude and child soldiers.
Participating in the walk costs nothing more, just two hours of your time.
