My name is Amelia Taylor and I'm extremely passionate about music.
Having achieved several qualifications, for example a BMus, Suzuki Teaching Training level 3, and Dip ABRSM, I find that the combination of performance, teaching young beginners violin, and being a university student, motivates me to strive towards my future
goals and aspirations.
My ambition is to be a well-rounded person, skilled as a violin performer, and able to participate in many aspects of a musical career. To achieve this, I plan to complete postgraduate study, teach violin to young people, perform as a soloist and as a chamber group member, and to audition for prestigious orchestras around the world.
As a student at the University of Waikato Music Department, I am an ambassador for the University and for New Zealand, as well as an individual violin performer. I proudly acknowledge all the people that I meet and work with during my development journey as a musician.
Last year marked the successful completion of my Bachelor's degree. I am now enrolled in my Honours at the University of Waikato, which I plan to complete in 2013. I shall then travel to the United States of America to further my studies and professional development where I've been accepted into the Louisiana State University (LSU) to complete my Master's degree in performance violin beginning in January 2014 with a full scholarship. Acceptance into the Aspen Music Festival during July / August 2013 offers me an excellent starting point for future study in the United States.
