Performing at New York's Carnegie Hall is the pinnacle of many a musician's career.
It says "I made it big. I got there." And for Tauranga violinist, Anna Lee, it most certainly is the highlight of her career. So far.

Many more career mountains are left to climb for Anna Lee, however and there is no doubt that she will knock them off.

Because Anna is still a teenager. The 15-year-old is a student at Bethlehem College and is still studying to pass her NCEA papers.

Unlike other normal kids though, she has already travelled the world, knocking off competition after competition on her way round.

These include the 2013 Valsesia International music competition in Italy, 2nd prize winner at the Seoul National Music Competition in South Korea, the American Protege International Music Competition, 2nd prize at the Padova International Music Competition in Italy, winner of the 2014 and 2015 Bay of Plenty Chamber music competition, and the winner of the TPACS Competition in New Zealand.

At the age of nine Anna was performing with Dame Malvina Major as well as receiving master classes by violinists such as Leo Phillips, Donald Armstrong, Tasana Nagajavara and Charles Castleman.

Two years ago Anna won the Bay of Plenty Rising Stars competition and will be back on home turf to support the competition next month by performing Wieniawski's Legende with the Bay of Plenty Symphonia.

Her advice to this year's competitors? "Have fun and don't worry about the results."
