Sumo suits replace speedos on beach

While our rainy summer is getting most people down, Paul De Wild and Danny Sunkel are rising to the challenge.

Forget speedos, these two donned sumo suits before hitting the Mount Main Beach and putting on a show.

"We figured what better place to do it than on the main beach. There was no shortage of people watching either," Mr Sunkel said

The suits were a Christmas gift to Paul's teenage kids, who were "a bit horrified" to see their dad making a scene, even though it was their idea.

"We were under strict instructions by Paul's daughter to go and do it, but yeah, they were a bit embarrassed," Mr Sunkel said.

So why did they do it?

"Because we can, really. Everyone's a bit miserable because it's a bit wet so we thought we'd go and have some fun and just get out there and entertain some people."
