Two years ago Cara Phillips thought she would join a Frocks on Bikes ride in the city. She enjoyed it so much, she is now helping organise the events, and one of them is a ride from Tauranga city to Pilot Bay.
"I just really love riding and like encouraging
other people to ride as a transport choice," she says.
She says while Frocks on Bikes is about having fun and getting familiar with various bike routes in the city, it also gets people thinking about biking as a transport choice.
"A lot of people ride for fitness and for fun, but it is also for transport.
"Frocks on Bikes gets you thinking that you don't have to wear lycra or high vis to ride. You can wear everyday clothes and ride."
