Members from legendary rock bands Foreigner and Bad Company have formed an all-star classic rock super-group heading for Tauranga in January.
Rock Steady features established stars from the multi platinum selling bands on a summer tour playing all the hits from Bad Company, Free and Foreigner.
Topline Entertainment's Steve Tree is promoting the band on their one-time tour.
"It's been on their bucket list to come to New Zealand especially. It's the first time they have done it."
Another reason for the Kiwi tour is because their special guest and pal Gordon Joll from Kaiwaka is here. He plays drums. Ronan Kavanagh has also recently moved to New Zealand with his family after spending 25 years playing professionally in London.
"It's a great opportunity to see these guys, it'll probably be the only time. They are performing at fairly intimate venues as well," Steve says.
The line-up includes Dave "Bucket" Colwell (former guitarist for Bad Company and Humble Pie), Richard Wills (best known for work with Foreigner and his associations with the Small Faces, Peter Frampton and Bad Company), Ronan Kavanagh on vocals (international singer/songwriter from Ireland who has played and recorded with Jeff Beck, Brian May of Queen, Kenny Jones and The Who and Rick Wills of Foreigner) and Gordon is one of New Zealand's most accomplished musicians, having played with Joe Walsh, Herbs, Hello Sailor, Rock Candy, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, Billy T. James, Tom Sharplin, Hammond Gamble, The Mockers, Glen Moffatt and Brendon Ham.
