On March 29, 1969 the Bay of Plenty Times published a photo taken at Greerton Kindergarten. The photo was of me, my cousin, Rick Moore, and an unnamed frog who we're sure went on to international stardom after that cameo.
Our family have, over the years, fondly talked about the
"frog photo".
Both Rick and I live in Australia, NSW and Victoria respectively, and don't get to catch up all that often.
On Saturday, Rick's father was married in Sydney so my wife & I flew up to share his special day and enjoyed catching up with Rick, his brother and sister, and their respective families.
We had been talking about the "frog photo" and decided to recreate it (albeit in Sydney and with a fake frog).
We had a lot of laughs out of this and agreed that we'd send a copy of the 1969 newspaper photo together with the 2011 photo over to you.
We have all talked fondly about many old photos and the memories they help bring back!
We're now going through some old family photos wondering what will next be on the list to recreate. Perhaps this might be a great opportunity for readers (both print and online - as I do) to submit their "magic moment, take-2".
Not only has this been a bit of fun it is now hot-topic around the whanau.
