I turned vegan on Saturday. For about an hour or so.

Who knew I'd get so wrapped up in the vegan vibe at Vegan Vibes out the Mount!

It was on the field next to Rising Tide and the food was unbelievable.

Seriously chilled atmosphere, great music and the smoothies were amazing.

My real issue is that I'm an intrinsically lazy human and the deliciousness of the food put me off ever becoming vegan. It seemed too hard to motivate myself to prep that kind of food for every meal.

Then there's the research in to what you can or can't eat, plus the cost. I know that if you're reading this as a vegan you are fervently disagreeing with me right now.

But I like meat. I only eat meat a couple of times a week and I'm a massive fan of whole natural foods. Let's call me 'halfvegan' and settle there.

From Vegan Vibes it was off to TEDx rehearsals. On Saturday October 7, I'm MC as 10 amazing speakers descend on Holy Trinity Church to each speak for 15 or so minutes on a diverse range of topics - from how to save the entire capital of the Maldives that will be underwater in 80 years by relocating them to oil rigs, to a lady who lives in the Bay who is the only New Zealander to be living with her heart outside her chest. What?

Amazing! Come along. It could be life changing.

Finally I went to the Black Seeds concert at Totara St on Saturday night. I had the best time - caught up with mates, listened to one of my favourite bands in one of the top three indoor small music venues in the country.

All that in one day. Why would you live anywhere else?
