The Shades are performing in Tauranga for a Waipuna Hospice fundraiser and the dynamic group has "a cracker" performance, says hospice fundraising manager Trish Rae.
If you want to show your support for the work of hospice, as well as be entertained by some incredible talent before they hit thebig time, then this is the concert to see.
"These performers are all extremely talented, and in fact, two of the boys took out the major awards at The Performing Arts Competition Association of New Zealand."
Two members of The Shades took out the top two places in the vocal section: Samson Setu was the winner, and Manase Latu was second.
Samson, Manase and guest soprano Natasha Wilson have all been accepted by Kiri Te Kanawa into her mentoring programme and these young singers are destined to have remarkable careers, she says.
"Performing well known songs and classics, their voices blend perfectly in a refreshing new style. Incredible talent and a cheeky sense of humour, it's a magic combination," she says.
"We are absolutely thrilled to host such talented singers. The concert will feature a diverse programme of popular songs and classics delivered in a refreshing new style - guaranteeing a great evening's entertainment." See www.waipuna-hospice.co.nz for tickets or from Waipuna Hospice shops.
