If you've been feeling a little less stylish than usual, it would hardly be surprising - winter is the hardest month to dress for.
Shops may be full of winter pieces but putting them together seems so much harder when it's not style to consider, but also warmth.
In summer, dressing for
the office, after-work drinks and play revolves around dresses, strappy shoes and an emergency cardy, but in winter a few more balls need to be juggled.
So rather than going for just the fashionable options, it's a good idea to start with a capsule wardrobe made up of the basics that you need to get winter outfits under way.
Once you have these ticked off, you'll be able to buy everything else with the knowledge you have in your wardrobe what it takes to make your look work.
1.The knit dress:
The winter warmer that looks good on its own but can also be worn as a slip.
Sable & Minx dress, $119
2.The anorak:
The one that covers any fashion disasters that may be lurking underneath.
Glassons anorak, $59.99
3.The take-anywhere bag:
This will avoid having to constantly swap your possessions between bags for different occasions.
Max soft bag, $99
4.The merino:
Vital for keeping short sleeve dresses wearable during winter. Storm crew-neck merino, $119
5.The scarf:
Goes with anything and keeps you snug in low temperatures. Standard Issue scarf, $115.
6.The matchy dress:
The one that just requires a change of jewellery or tights to make it look different every time. Principals dress, $89.90
7.The heel you love:
The one that doesn't require any thinking when you're running late. Mi Piaci heel, $210
