Pierce Brosnan's and Trine Dyrholm's characters feel like real people rather than cinematic constructs.

There's a wonderful warmth about European films and the style they deliver is so very different to what comes out of the United States.

Love Is All You Need is a Danish production (subtitled in English) set mainly on the spectacular Italian coastline.

Ida (Trine Dyrholm) has come to Italy for the wedding of her daughter, Astrid (Molly Blixt Egelind), and Patrick (Sebastian Jessen).

Ida has had a difficult year with a bout of cancer followed by the infidelity of her husband making life barely tolerable.

She hopes the wedding will lighten her disastrous year.

Philip (Pierce Brosnan) is Patrick's distant, workaholic father.

Following the death of his wife in a car accident years earlier, Philip has turned off his emotions and looks at life with bitter eyes.

Ida and Philip are two very different people who meet at a happy occasion. With chaos all around them, they try to keep the wedding - and some of the more bizarre wedding guests - on track.

But there is chemistry between Ida and Philip that brings the best out of each other as they enjoy the romance of the Italian setting.

Love Is All You Need is an enchanting comedy-romance about getting a second chance at love.
