Overalls
How did it happen: What Ralph Lauren says goes, it seems. The designer sent them down the runway for spring saying he was ''inspired by the character of the worker, the farmer, the cowboy, the pioneer women of the prairies living authentically through challenging times''. With a little help
from fashion icon Alexa Chung their new status was cemented.
How to do it: Avoid looking like a 90s throwback by avoiding any other country-inspired pieces, such as plaid or casual boots, when you're wearing your overalls. If going for long overalls wear them with heels, if they're short wear cute flats. Balance the masculine look of overalls with feminine blouses and pretty handbags. Avoid if you are short - they tend to make petite people look childish.

Beige socks
How did it happen: Possibly the biggest fashion miracle about, not only are socks and sandals considered fashionable but the socks du jour are beige. It's been a joint effort, with Dior, Prada, Burberry and Marc Jacobs all sending them down their runways on model tootsies.
How to do it: Socks with heels are a young girl's game so if you're the other side of 30 leave the trend to the youngies. Likewise, if you're not confident about your pins. Pull them up high or scrunch them down and wear strappy shoes.

Crimping
How did it happen: Texture is and crimping is just one way to achieve it. Mana Dave from Salon Blaze got the crimpers out for Kiwi designer Sera Lilly's winter collection
How to do it: Keep the crimp looser and away from the face. Clip back or tie in a loose pony. This time use thermo-protecting products.
