Trendsetters and the uber-rich can now get their hands on a new stylish status symbol - a Versace cellphone.
Available from Versace's US boutique stores, these smart phones come with the usual tech standards but - more importantly to some - the Medusa logo is engraved on the metal, embossed on
the calf-leather back and staring at you from the touchscreen.
This beauty does comes at a hefty price, however.
The ceramic and lacquer-coated piece will sting you about US$6500 ($9023) - though you can kick up the desirability factor another notch by adding gold-plating, that'll set you back US$8000.
Plus it comes with pre-loaded ringtones with some of Donatella Versace's favourite tunes from the catwalk.

Gamers: team take on alien planet plus Jacko wannabes, get ready

Great news for Ratchet & Clank fans, there's another adventure in the works for the dynamic duo.
CEO and President of Insomniac Games Ted Price took to the stage at the recent Gamescom event, in Cologne, Germany, to announce their newest game - Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.
For the first time, up to four-players will be able to team up as Ratchet, Clank, Quark or Dr Nefarious to take on an alien planet. Described as a co-op game with a competitive edge, it looks fantastic in teasers. He also showed a video giving a taste of Resistance 3, which possibly looked even cooler.
Although not announcing a specific release date, it's projected neither game will be out until late 2011.
Not to be outdone, video game publisher Ubisoft will release its dancing-and-singing Michael Jackson The Experience game later this year, which will feature hits such as Bad, Beat It and Billie Jean, with more to come.
The Jackson game will be among the first to use the new Xbox 360 Kinect and PlayStation 3 Move motion control systems.
Readers ditch convention for ebooks, latest figures reveal
It seems bookworms are embracing ebooks, with Amazon.com announcing that sales of books for its Kindle e-reader have been outnumbering those of their hard-cover counterparts.
According to the online bookseller, over the past three months it has sold 143 Kindle books for every 100 hardbacks.
What's even more interesting about the numbers is that they show the staying power of Kindle - despite new competition from the iPad.
Kindle devices differ from iPads in their screens, capabilities, battery life, price and weight. Kindles use e-reader screens, are lighter, cheaper and have weeks of battery life. However, on the plus side for the iPad, in addition to its use for e-books, it's a small computer with internet and video capabilities.
