Tauranga based energy company TrustPower has joined the burgeoning online special deals marketplace with the launch today of Offer Zone.
The website allows TrustPower's business customers to offer discounted products and services to TrustPower's 60,000 residential customers in Tauranga and the rest of the Western Bay of Plenty.
So far 600 businesses
have taken advantage of the free service and posted deals on Offer Zone. The website www.offerzone.co.nz goes live at midday today, allowing customers to register online so they could take advantage of the deals.
TrustPower has marked the launch by placing 100 $50 power credits on Offer Zone at 7pm tonight, first in, first served. To be in with a chance to get a credit, register on the website, log on to Offer Zone and click on the power credit offer.
TrustPower's general manager of commercial operations Chris O'Hara said the website was created to promote local businesses to their community and reward customer loyalty.
Deals are categorised under food and drink, travel and leisure, retail and services, arts and entertainment, and business services.
Mr O'Hara said Offer Zone was not an auction site and nor did the deals last for just one day. The offers were valid for as long as the businesses kept the posting active.
Current deals ranged from $970 off an air conditioning unit and a half price adventure sail on Tauranga Harbour to half price warrant of fitnesses and two-for-one picture framing and beers.
