Entrepreneur and fashion empire owner Annah Stretton will share her secrets to success at a one-off charity event in Tauranga next Wednesday.
The woman behind clothing store Annah S is currently touring New Zealand to launch her new book Wire Heart: 10 strategies for Success in Business and Life.
The Tauranga Zonta
Club is hosting the book's local launch at Devonport Towers with Annah available on the night to answer questions and sign copies.
Attendees will also hear tips on what to wear during a special "Dress for Success" segment.
Club spokeswoman Elizabeth Simm says Annah is a very successful business woman and an inspiration to others.
"She was our Zonta Woman of the Biennium at our conference in Dunedin in 2007 and has always been a big supporter of Zonta NZ. She has offered all the clubs the opportunity to use her book launch as a fundraising event and we are very happy to host the launch of her own story to our Tauranga friends."
Annah's journey to success started after attending art school then going on to achieve an accounting degree.
She worked for Ernst and Young, had two children, and then decided to combine her passion for design and business by starting Stretton Clothing Company in 1992.
She owns a chain of successful Annah S fashion stores and, in recent years, has become a publisher and editor with Her, Pink and Who's Who magazines. Proceeds from ticket sales will help fund the cost of advertisements on the back of dockets from supermarkets in the Bay of Plenty area, listing the names and phone numbers of agencies which help women suffering from domestic violence and abuse. The money will also be given to International Zonta projects helping women around the world.
The local club, which has 31 members, has a long history of supporting female-focused causes.
Previous fundraising events have raised money and awareness for Breast Cancer Support Tauranga, the School for Young Parents and the Shakti Ethnic Woman's Refuge.
The event will be held on October 6 at the Tauranga Club, Level 5, Devonport Towers, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets cost $25 and are available from Bethlehem Paper Plus, the Annah S store on Devonport Rd and Arthur Toye on Grey St.
