Downer handed Waterfront Project

The Tauranga City Council has awarded the contract to construct stage one of the Waterfront Project to Downer New Zealand.

Work on the waterfront is expected to start in early February on the pedestrian and cycle pathway that will run along the seawall from Dive Cres to Wharf St.

The first stage is expected to be completed by Easter. 

The second part of the stage-one work,  involving renovation of the Edgewater Fan area, completing the walkway and the creation of two green spaces in the central and southern reclamation areas, will be completed by July.
