Commercial guest nights in the coastal Bay of Plenty rose 9.5 per cent in October and 5.4 per cent in November compared with the same months in 2010, according to commercial accommodation figures from Statistics New Zealand.

In October, international guest nights were up 33 per cent, while domestic guest
nights rose 3.1 percent to 60,028.

The overall occupancy rate rose from 26.8 per cent to 29.9 per cent. The occupancy rate, excluding holiday parks, was 48.7 per cent.
