It really is a small world, after all.
Tauranga winemaker Steve Bird has had wines selected by Walt Disney World for its 2011 core wines list.
Both the 2008 Bird Sauvignon Blanc and the 2008 Bird Big Barrel Pinot Noir will be in Disney restaurants and bars from this month.
Bird's US distributor,
Via Pacifica Selections, submitted the boutique wine label for Disney's selection process.
The wines will be stocked in restaurants and bars at both Disneyland, Los Angeles and at Disney World, Florida.
Mr Bird said it was "an incredible honour" to have the wines selected.
"It's fantastic news, because millions of tourists from around the world visit the theme parks every year, so the exposure for Bird Wines will be phenomenal."
Mr Bird said Disney's decision was likely to have been influenced by favourable reviews from US wine critic Neal Martin, of The Wine Advocate.
The winery's 2008 Sauvignon Blanc and 2008 Big Barrel Pinot Noir both received a score of 90/100.
Mr Bird said the winery's export market was rapidly expanding.
Bird has also been launched in Canada. The same two varietals have been picked up by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), which controls more than half of Ontario's total beverage alcohol market.
