The body of a newborn baby was found wrapped in a plastic bag and stuffed in the bathroom of a plane after the mother gave birth during a flight.
According to the Jakarta Post, the 37-year-old woman was arrested after cleaning crew made the discovery on an Etihad Airways plane at Jakarta International Airport.
It is understood the woman started to bleed hours after the flight had left Abu Dhabi, forcing pilots to divert to Bangkok.
"The woman was in economy class but then laid on a business class seat with an oxygen mask," a crew member told AFP.
The woman was then removed from the plane, but the dead baby was only found inside the drawer of the bathroom after the plane landed at its final destination on Thursday, Sky News reported.
