When one embarks on a bleary-eyed, early morning commute it's safe to assume one doesn't factor on meeting a metre-long jungle carpet python called 'Bread'.
But that was exactly what passengers travelling on a Central Coast train experienced in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Passengers told police that a 20-year-old man took a python - dubbed 'Bread'- out of his backpack and showed it off to his fellow travellers.
Several passengers became concerned for the animal's safety and promptly called officials when the man revealed he lacked a permit for the snake.
NSW police met the train at Woy Woy station and confiscated the snake.
The python was escorted to the local police station where it has since been examined by Australian Reptile Park staff.
The police have since confirmed the creature was not the Pokemon Ekans.
