A woman overdosed on heroin and died in her sick baby's hospital room in the United States.
The baby's father also overdosed but survived and has been charged over the incident, ABC News reported.
Ohio father Wesley Landers and his wife Mary Anne were visiting their 7-month-old daughter in a Cincinnati hospital last week after she had reconstructive windpipe surgery.
The couple used heroin and Mrs Landers died in the room of an overdose.
Landers survived and was charged with bringing a gun to the hospital. He appeared in the Hamilton County Municipal Court the next day.
Judge Curt Kissinger described the deadly overdose as tragic.
"If the heroin epidemic has exhibited itself in a more tragic form, I haven't seen it," he said.
"I hope to never see this type of case again."
The baby girl and her older sister and now in the custody of their grandparents.
