A US Airways plane has been evacuated after suffering gear failure at Philadelphia International Airport.

Emergency crews were called when the landing gear at the nose of the Boeing 737 collapsed during takeoff at about 6:30pm (local time), CBS news reports.

No injuries have been reported.

The plane was on its way to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Philadephia Airport tweeted that all planes were grounded until further notice.

Philadelphia man Dennis Fee reportedly posted a photo of the crippled jet to his Facebook page today.

It shows passengers using emergency slides to exit the plane.

Other passengers have posted photos of the stricken plane to Twitter.
