Anti-nuclear summit in Paris

A new international group committed to eliminating nuclear weapons in the next 25 years begins its campaign at a conference in Paris on Wednesday.

Global Zero proposes deep cuts in US and Russian nuclear arsenals with phased reductions leading to the elimination of all stockpiles.

After the Paris meeting, delegations will go to Moscow and Washington this week.

Ultimately, the planners hope to stage a world summit in January 2010.
