The sun continues to shine across much of the country today as the good run of fine weather continues in the first week of the school holidays.
MetService meteorologist Arno Dyason said it would be simply stunning throughout New Zealand.
"Sunshine is the story of the day," he said.
While showers would brush the southernmost and northern parts of the country, most regions could expect fine weather.
Temperatures in the North Island would remain mild in the early 20s.
Auckland could expect a mostly sunny day with a chance of afternoon showers and a high of 20C.
Cracker days were in store for Christchurch and Wellington with clear skies and highs of 21C and 19C.
Dunedin had a chance of rain and an expected high of 20C.
