Funding is now available for groups that support youth in the Whanganui region.
The Whanganui District Council's Youth Committee's grants scheme is for young people aged 12 to 24.
The first round of the funding scheme for the 2016/17 year is now open.
Committee co-chair Macy Duxfield said applications - which align to the Youth Committee's goals of making sure Whanganui is a place where young people want to be - would be considered favourably.
"We want to support projects and initiatives which help deliver a vibrant, thriving and empowering community for young people.
"These could be about promoting good choices about health and wellbeing, or helping young people to develop the skills and attitudes to take part in our community in a positive way.
"We are also looking for applications from organisations which promote relevant information to young people so they can make good decisions and participate in our society at every level."
Last year the committee awarded $10,000 in grants to local groups.
Organisations can apply for up to $1500. There are four application rounds a year and the next round closes on Friday. For more information go to whanganui.govt.nz/youthcommitttee.
