Negotiations are continuing around a possible sale of the former National Bank building in Whanganui.
The building, which carries a Heritage New Zealand category 2 rating, was offered for sale by tender and those tenders closed earlier this month.
The real estate agents handling the sale said the building had not sold but "we're in negotiations with a number of interested parties".
According to the rating information the building, on Victoria Ave next to Majestic Square has a capital value of $1.27 million. The building has been vacant for a while after ANZ group shifted its services to the new site across the avenue.
Built in 1930, it has a floor area of more than 800sq m over three levels including a basement, ground floor and first floor.
