St John paramedics rushed to the scene of a car crash in town yesterday.

They assessed a woman driver but did not need to transport her to hospital, territory manager John Stretton said.

A man involved in the accident said he'd been driving down St Hill St when the other car, which had been parallel-parked to his left, pulled out in front of him.

Aside from being a little sore where the seatbelt caught him, the man was uninjured.

He and the woman driving the other car were the only people involved in the crash, which happened just before 11am.

A section of the road was blocked off, although cars were driving around the police cordon to go down the street.
