Ruapehu has put its case to receive government investment in digital infrastructure.
The Ruapehu District Council's Digital Enablement Plan outlines how the district would benefit from being part of the next round of national broadband and mobile broadband funding.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment will decide which towns and communities get investment next.
Ruapehu Mayor Don Cameron said developing the plan had been a major undertaking which required input from the community.
"This project has really captured the imagination of many people who have attended public meetings, performed internet speed tests and shared their internet 'war stories' and aspirations for how they would make use of improved broadband and mobile services," Mr Cameron said.
