The trial for the man accused of murdering Wanganui man Whetu Hansen has been postponed for a week.
Whetu Hansen went missing on November 24, 2013. His body has never been recovered. A 56-year-old Palmerston North man appeared in court charged with his murder on May 20 last year.
His trial was set to begin yesterday morning in the High Court at Palmerston North, but Justice Alan MacKenzie told the assembled jury panel they were unable to start "for various reasons".
The jury was chosen but told to come back on Monday, July 6. Five jury members were excused after being empanelled. The final group consisted of six men and six women.
The Crown has a list of 54 witnesses, three of whom have name suppression.
