Barry Wright will open his Wanganui East studio to the public this weekend, offering an opportunity to purchase his vinyl artworks and see him at work.
Mr Wright wishes to assure lovers of vinyl records that he does not use discs that are still playable.
"I use ones that are scratched beyond repair or have no value and I try to link the designs to the record label if I can."
A scroll saw is used to work the designs and Mr Wright said his inspiration came from reading an article in a scroll saw magazine around three years ago.
"I started experimenting and I was hooked - I have made plaques and donated them to various organisations and businesses around Wanganui."
