The annual Ruahine-Rangiwahia sheepdog trial took place last week in mild autumn weather.
Secretary Andrew Clifton said that while heading dog entries were back, the huntaways were out in force. With at least four other provincial trials clashing, it is just too hard to get to them all.
Once again, Friends of St Barnabas, the local church and play group, did a superb job with the catering - their early morning breakfast a great start to the day.
The sheep kindly supplied by Paki-iti, Andrew Ramsay and Hinau Station provided for some high pointing runs, particularly on the hunt courses.
The intermediate dogs were again prominent, with Guy Peacock's Chief winning the shorthead.
