Three schools in the Wanganui region collected cheques from Pak'nSave on Victoria Ave on Wednesday - thanks to the Cash for Schools competition which saw shoppers nominate a school each time they visited the supermarket.
The promotion started in June and bins were placed in the foyer so shoppers could place their receipts in the bin with the school's name on it.
Schools were divided into categories based on the size of their rolls. For the bigger schools, Carlton took out the $10,000 cheque; medium-sized schools saw Castlecliff win $5000, while $2000 went to Waitotara, top of the smaller schools.
Store manager Gareth Jones said there were 35 schools participating and each was eligible for a weekly draw for a $150 grocery voucher.
