Ariana Hansen of Taihape is a cancer survivor, a wife, mum, singer and now a long-distance cyclist.
When she bought her daughter a bike two years ago she started cycling as well.
Then it was as though something jumped out of the computer screen at her one night saying you have to do this ... the 200km cycle Conquer Cancer ride around Auckland in November ... enter.
"I was was just cycling round with my daughter so I thought if I was going to do this ride I'd better get serious and Taihape is a great place to get serious on a bike with all the hills and countryside."
Ariana was hit with throat cancer five years ago, had chemo, radiation and surgery and was convinced she would never sing again.
