A man who told his neighbour what he'd do to them if he saw them in a dark alleyway has been sentenced to community work for his threats.
Robert Wayne Kanuta was having a loud argument with his partner on Monday when the neighbour told him the police would be called if they didn't stop.
Kanuta later rode past the neighbour's house on a bicycle and told him: "If I see you in a dark alleyway you better watch out, because I'll do you over and kill you," prosecutor Sergeant Drew Morrison said.
Kanuta pleaded guilty in Whanganui District Court yesterday to speaking threateningly.
Defence lawyer Stephen Ross said Kanuta didn't "necessarily agree" about the exact words spoken.
