The Wanganui teenager who wants belief-based Christianity removed from state schools has been pleased and surprised at support for his stance.
"I got a lot of messages with a lot of support for it, way more than I expected.
"The only people that don't agree with me have been reasonable and been talking to me about it," he said.
Brad Fisher went public in Saturday's Chronicle, supporting the Secular Education Network's campaign to end Christian religious education in state primary schools. He had previously received death threats from anonymous fellow teens for his views - but that has stopped.
Some of his teachers told him he was doing good work. One photocopied the article and put it on her wall.
