Greytown and East Coast share the lead in the Wairarapa-Bush Rugby Union's Chris Kapene Memorial Cup premier division competition after the opening two matches.
The two sides, who met in the grand final of the Tui Cup main championship last year, have the maximum 10 points from winning both their matches and picking up an extra bonus point in each of them for scoring four or more tries.
Third with seven points is Martinborough, followed by Gladstone (six), Marist (five), defending Kapene Cup champions Pioneer (four), Carterton and Eketahuna (three) and Bush Sports and Puketoi (0).
Greytown travel to Pongaroa to play Puketoi this Saturday and the form book suggests another five pointer is on the cards but East Coast won't have everything their own way when they confront an improving Pioneer side at Memorial Park
