Police are seeking help to find a man who has been evading them since January.

A warrant for Sharnie Rimene's arrest was issued when he failed to appear in court on charges relating to shoplifting and burglary.

Police warned he is known to associate with gang members and should not be approached.

He is likely to still be in Wairarapa.

Senior Sergeant Grant Mumby said Rimene was understood to have a history of avoiding police but later turning himself in.

He is 35, Maori, of thin build and 180cm tall.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Masterton police station on (06) 370 0378 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Mr Mumby said Wairarapa police were also still hunting for Jade Harris and Stephen Rowe.

Rowe has a history of violent offending and gang connections.

A warrant for his return to prison has been issued, and police believe he is likely to be in the Wellington region.

Jade Harris, who has a history of violence, removed his monitoring bracelet in February.

Police believe he may be in the Tasman area.

Harris is to be featured on the TV2 show Police Ten 7, which airs next Thursday.
