Representatives of the Fiji military and George Speight are meeting this afternoon for more talks aimed at resolving the political crisis.
IRN’s reporter in Suva, Virisila Buadromo, says Speight's head of security is currently meeting with former military commander Ratu Epeli Ganilau.
She says they are discussing the possibility of the safe and peaceful release of the 27 hostages.
It's the first time the two sides have met in two weeks.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports about the effectiveness of the military exclusion zone around the Parliament compound in Suva.
Virisila Buadromo says the military is claiming people have got the message and are leaving the area.
However she says many of George Speight's supporters have announced they will not be forced to go anywhere.
She says they have stated they will continue to support the coup leader.
