Ex-servicemen who transformed a swamp into farmland have had a memorial erected in their honour.
The large memorial, a pair of milk creamers, stands on the spot where the former Okunui Hall built in 1956 by the ex-servicemen and opened by Horowhenua County Council chairman Duncan Guy.
Otaki MP Nathan Guy, the grandson of Duncan Guy, unveiled the monument last weekend.
