Drought assistance
A new ANZ bank drought assistance package will enable Northland farmers to apply for short-term funding to cope with unexpected costs arising from extreme weather, suspend or reduce loan principal repayments, waive fees associated with restructuring business loans, waive fees for term finance and investments which have the potential to improve performance in future, waive notice period requirements and remove interest rate recovery costs associated with accessing funds on term deposit ahead of their maturity date.
Dairy workshops
Dairy Women's Network workshops, funded by DairyNZ and PrimaryITO, are being held around New Zealand to get farmers started with farm budgeting, creating an annual farm cash budget and cashflow on a monthly basis and identifying support networks. A workshop will be held at the Te Ahu Centre in Kaitaia from 6pm-8.30pm on March 8, another will take place at the Woodlands Motel, 126 Kerikeri Rd, Kerikeri, at the same time on March 9 and a third will be held from 9.30am-12.30pm at the Afare Conference and Reception Lounge, 197 Lower Dent St, Whangarei, on March 28.
