With 400 dogs and 300 people coming to town on the Spring Festival Super Weekend October 15-16, Dannevirke will be really going to the dogs.
Moteliers will be delighted again as bookings are full for the two nights needed for the weekend shows.
Restaurants and shops will enjoy increased custom as visitors buy up large soon after the Ross Shield bonanza.
On display will be the best of the best, recently been judged at the National Show in Christchurch. President of the Ruahine Kennel Association Tim Delanie expects the Supreme Winner from that show - a St Bernard - to be here, plus other exotic breeds which most of the public will never have seen.
Among the 400 entries are tiny breeds like Pomeranians and if you think the Great Danes featured above in last year's show were big wait to you see the Tibetan Mastiff that is entered here.
